So many issues crowd the headlines and stories called news. There is an issue, abuse, which is just too awful to think about. Abuse comes in so many forms: physical, mental, verbal, control, but the outcome is always the same. Families, women and children who have been exposed to abuse suffer and those around them suffer, too.
There is a place called SAFE (Services to Abused Families, Inc.) that exists to help. Abuse cases rise as economies fall. Funding falls as governments and individuals turn their attention to other issues.
On Sept. 25 at the Prince Michel Winery in Madison County, you can help SAFE protect those who are suffering by coming to participate in an evening filled with lots of good food and wine; silent and live auctions; and authors who will inform, entertain and autograph their books.
