The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Friday, Sept. 3 at 3756 Sperryville Pike and then arrested Tessa Rose Adams, 29. Adams was charged with possession of a controlled substance and distribution of marijuana. Additional warrants are being sought by Lt. J.C. Welch.
Robert Grancille Ross, 55, a resident of South Riding in Loudoun County, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence by Lt. Welch on Saturday, Sept. 4. The arrest was a result of a new roadblock policy.
Sheriff Connie Smith said she has updated/revised the department’s policy on traffic checkpoints. The first of these was initiated Saturday at three different locations: 9908 Lee Hwy., Lee Highway at Weaver Road, and in the town of Flint Hill. In addition to the DUI arrest, deputies issued 24 summons, Smith said, on charges ranging from defective equipment to driving on a suspended driver’s license. —Roger L. Foster
