Photo: Ready for some summer reading

Headwaters Starfish mentees (from left) Kayla Butler, Colin Kelly and Mahlet Yonas-Yirgu enjoy sharing gift bags full of summer reading for 12 Rappahannock County Elementary School students.  The Headwaters Foundation’s Starfish Mentoring Program’s mentors and mentees selected and packaged the books for other children ages 6-12 as a community outreach effort to “make reading fun.” Each bag contained more than 10 books, an entertaining activity and a treat. Starfish acknowledges the generous financial support of the Retired Teachers Association, Rappahannock’s Book Barn, Fauquier’s Book Cellar and individual donors Michael McCormick and John McMahon.
