Volleyball, soccer camps at RCHS
Besides a football-related meeting June 21 for players and parents (see Meetings and Notices on this page), there’s other sports-related goings-on at the schools:
A James Madison University volleyball camp for rising eighth- to 12th-graders is June 21-22 at Rappahannock County High School’s auxiliary gym, noon to 7 both days. Registration forms are available online at the RCHS athletics website, rappahannockathletics.org, under Files/Links.
On June 25-29, RCHS holds a Rappahannock Soccer Camp on the high school auxiliary fields boys varsity coach James Lofton – with sessions available for ages 6-13 and ages 13-18. Hearthstone’s summer camps
Hearthstone Summer Day Camp, for ages 3-12, are scheduled for July 23-27 and July 30-Aug. 3; Mountain Adventures Day Camp, are July 9-13 (for ages 4-7); June 18-22 and June 25-29 (ages 78-13); rock climbing and ropes course for ages 13-18 on July 30-Aug. 3: backpacking for ages 13-18 Aug. 6-10.

RCHS academic awards

Jacob Dawson shows off his Shelby Atkins Memorial Award after last week’s academic awards were handed out at Rappahannock County High School. The Shelby Atkins award recognizes a student who exemplifies the compassion towards others, honesty, perseverance and responsibility of its namesake.
