I’m Paulie, and my breed, the Havanese, hails from Cuba and, in Spanish, is called Blanquito de Habana. Classy, huh? We’re an unbeatable combination of terribly sweet and quite intelligent, and are distinguished from all other breeds of dog by our walking “bop,” springing along as pretty as you please. We stick close to our person and prefer smaller kids to teenagers. I’m housebroken, crate-trained and love my walks on a leash. I know lots of commands: sit, get your toy, down, wait, and go to bed. Come visit. You’ll be impressed.
In the past week, one of my canine colleagues was joined with new owners. The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL), 160 Weaver Road, Amissville, is open 8 to 1 daily.
