The officers and members of the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company would like to thank all those people who helped us with our carnival last week.We had good volunteers running stands, cooking burgers and fries, selling baked goods, running the bingo game and a host of other activities. Thanks to all those hard-working volunteers, and thanks, especially to those folks who came out and supported the carnival and made donations and played bingo and did all those things which helped to make the effort worthwhile. There are too many to thank in this note, but you know who are, and we know who you are. Thanks so much.
The winner of the heifer donated by the Welch family was J. B. Pearson of Front Royal. The $2,000 grand prize winner was Matthew Seay of Fork Union, Va. Art Goff, our man at the courthouse, won the $1,000 prize, and David Smoot and Josh Fantaci, both from Sperryville, each won $500.
Congratulations to the lucky winners, and thanks, again, to this wonderful community for all your support.
