On Saturday, Sept. 15, the Fauquier Free Clinic invites the public to join in the 16th annual Rappahannock Rough Ride, a “self-paced, multi-level cycling challenge through Virginia’s most beautiful countryside” – that is, Rappahannock County.
The ride starts at 10 a.m. at the Washington fire hall, 10 Firehouse Lane (just off U.S. 211).
Preregistration for the ride is $25 for adults ($15 for ages 12 and younger); registration on the day is $30 ($15 for children). Registration proceeds benefit the clinic. Washington Fire and Rescue is serving one of its popular all-you-can eat breakfasts from 7 to 11 a.m. (and lunch at the end of the ride, $8 for adults and $4 for kids). Those proceeds will go to the department.
Courses for the ride range from 12, 35 and 60 miles over paved roads to 20 or 30 miles over a combination paved and unpaved course. Online registration closes Sept. 13. Register online at fauquierfreeclinic.org. For more information, visit the website or call 540-347-0394.
