Scrabble School Preservation Foundation’s “Celebration of Black History” at Scrabble School starts at 2 p.m. with guest speakers Rev. Reginald Raginald Green, who in 1961 participated in the Freedom Rides that challenged Jim Crow segregation laws on interstate buses, and Cleo Coleman of the Rosenwald School in Port Royal. Va. Musical offerings by the Unity Choir. A Heritage Soup Supper follows the program. Free and open to all at the school, 111 Scrabble Road, Castleton, a half mile from the intersection of U.S. 522 and Scrabble Road.
