Good recommendations

Wednesday morning, December 5, 2007, during the first winter rain-snow, icy mix of the season, Tim Fahey was driving alone down High Knob Road in his 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Although the road was slippery, his four wheel drive and four wheel anti lock brakes enabled him to maintain good road contact.

Unfortunately, a car heading down the hill ahead of him skid out of control and in his path. Tim steered his leased Trailblazer SUV and avoided a collision then skidded over the embankment, hit a tree, and rolled twice and came to rest on the roof, but only temporarily. The midsize SUV then rolled one more time before landing upright on the wheels.

Both side roof airbags deployed. The seat belt kept Tim in place; a voice came from his radio speaker system. "OnStar calling. Mr. Fahey, are you OK?

Due to the high volume of weather related accidents that day and the fact that he was not injured, law officials declined to visit the scene. OnStar immediately sent an emergency vehicle. Tim’s insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss and since GAP insurance is standard in all GMAC leases, Tim contacted Jack Evans Chevrolet & Cadillac in Front Royal to place an order for a new replacement 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

It did not take long for Ron Nicholson of Chester Gap, Jack Evans GM Certified Sales Consultant, to locate the vehicle Tim and his wife, Louise, wanted, since this is the fifth vehicle of six that Ron has helped them purchase or lease the past seven years. The previous time they leased two vehicles for each other on the same day.

Of coincidence, ten years ago, being a satisfied service customer, Tim and Louise recommended Jack Evans Chevrolet and Cadillac to Tim Frees when Tim first met Tim, who was Frees’ sister in law and their neighbor. That weekend Tim Frees interviewed for the general manager position and decided to relocate to Front Royal.

When Tim Frees, Jack Evans Chevrolet & Cadillac general manager, asked about the accident and their safety, Louise quickly stated, "I will never have a vehicle without OnStar!" and husband Tim Fahey immediately responded, "The small cost is well worth it in one day"

From one good recommendation to another.

Editor's Note: Two Tims and a December mishap ended happily despite a slippery road for Tim Fahey. Thanks for sharing your story.
