Four seriously injured in U.S. 211 car wreck

Four people were transported to regional hospitals on April 2 after a Sperryville man's 1994 Toyota overturned on U.S. 211.

The accident occurred around 1 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 211 and Old Hollow Road. According to the Virginia State Police report, the driver, James Johnson, was driving westbound when he ran off the right shoulder of the highway, swerved to the left and ended up flipping the vehicle several times before coming to rest on the left shoulder of the road.

The 62-year-old driver, a 27-year-old female passenger and two children who were in the vehicle were transported to local hospitals. Two passengers were airlifted from the scene of the wreck. Johnson and one other passenger sustained life-threatening injuries, according to police report.
