Rappahannock resident named “Chamber Executive of the Year”
Karen Henderson, president and chief executive officer of the Fauquier County Chamber of Commerce, has been awarded the “Chamber Executive of the Year Award” by the Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.The award, which was presented to Henderson at the state association's annual meeting last month in Williamsburg, recognizes outstanding performance in the field of Chamber of Commerce management in Virginia during the past year and is presented to an individual who has exhibited characteristics that make him or her a leader both in their chamber and community.
Outstanding achievements, effectiveness in addressing challenges, professionalism, program development and implementation, fiscal management, stature in the community and other special qualities are discussed on the nomination form.
Henderson, who lies in Washington, Va., has served in her position with the Fauquier County chamber for the past seven years.
