The three churches on the Rappahannock United Methodist Charge will celebrate a special "Blessing of the Children" on Sunday, Aug. 24 during regular worship times (Flint Hill 8:45 a.m., Willis Chapel 9:55 a.m., Sperryville 11:30 a.m.). Children, as well as teachers, bus drivers, and others school personnel, will be offered anointing and a special blessing as they prepare to go back to school. Forest Grove Church invites everyone to join in an outdoor contemporary service on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. The service will take place at the Forest Grove Ministries and Activities Center at the Old School House Grounds. The service will be outside with a new pavilion that has been erected. The worship experience will include contemporary worship led by The Crosstones and mass communion will be celebrated.
The area will be flooded with the sound of thunder as over 200 members of the Christian Motorcyclists' Association will be sending representatives from their Richmond and Front Royal chapters, as well as other motorcyclist's which are invited to attend. Everyone is welcomed to participate.
There will be a meal available for donations after the service at 2 p.m. The Crosstones, the Forest Grove Church's own contemporary Christian band, will present a concert.
