Closings and meetings
The following will be closed Monday, Sept. 1 in observance of Labor Day and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 2:
Rappahannock County government offices;
Rappahannock County Public Schools ;
Rappahannock National Bank;
BB&T in Flint Hill;
Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
The Rappahannock News, will have an early deadline for the Sept. 4 edition due to the holiday. All items for publication should be submitted no later than 3 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 29.
On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors will meet at 2 p.m., at the Rappahannock County Courthouse on Gay Street. There is no 7 p.m. meeting.
Highlights of the agenda:
RCCA donation for Farmland Protection Program - Susan Strittmatter, Ashley Matthews; broadband service; Dominion power line; budget amendments, courthouse security.
On Thursday, Sept. 4, the Rappahannock County Water and Sewer Authority will meet at 7:30 p.m., at the Rappahannock County Courthouse on Gay Street.
