Two-car crash

A two-vehicle collision at the corner of Mount Salem Avenue and U.S. 211 near the Town of Washington sent two people to Fauquier Hospital on Feb. 19, according to the Virginia State Police.

A woman was driving her 2004 Toyota Camry westbound on U.S. 211 around 3:20 p.m. when a man driving a 2004 Kia Spectra crossed in front of her from Mount Salem Avenue, according to the police report.

The woman's child was in the vehicle and was injured during the wreck. The driver of the Spectra was also injured. Rescue squads from Flint Hill and Washington responded and transported the injured to Warrenton.

Barry Portman, of Novato, Calif., was charged with failure to yield to the right of way, the report said.

Driving suspended

William Myran Haun Jr. was arrested Saturday in Amissville for driving with a suspended license, according to an incident report at the Rappahannock County Sheriff's Office. The 42-year-old Rixeyville man was stopped on Seven Ponds Road around 3 p.m.
