Nancy Walbridge and Jeffrey O'Connell wed

Nancy J. Walbridge and Jeffrey W. O’Connell were married on June 28 at the home of Barbara and Harry Hirsch, the sister and brother-in-law of the groom, in Annapolis, Md., on the South River.

The wedding was officiated by the Rev. Denise Vogt, Chaplain of Hospice of the Rapidan.

Ms. Walbridge-O’Connell is the Community Relations Director of Hospice of the Rapidan, the leading provider of end-of-life care for terminally ill patients and their families in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties. She joined Hospice of the Rapidan after a long career in publishing, during which she served as Publisher of Hudson Valley Magazine and Associate Publisher of The Patent Trader, the leading weekly newspaper in Westchester County, N. Y. The bride also has extensive experience with not-for-profit organizations, having served on the board of directors of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester, the Northern Westchester Center for the Arts, the Mt. Kisco Chamber of Commerce, Westchester Women in Communications, the Mt. Kisco Lions Club and most recently the board of Fauquier Community Theater and the Fauquier County Boys and Girls Club in Virginia.

Mr. O’Connell is president of Stafford Roofing & Siding with business locations in Annapolis, Md., and Stafford, Va. He holds a B.S. in Economics from Mt. St. Mary’s College near Gettysburg, Pa., later receiving his Masters Degree in Acquisition Systems Management from Capital College in the District of Columbia. This was obtained while serving as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for 27 years before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2001.

The bride, attired in a sleeveless beaded V-neck gown designed by Le Monde, was attended by her daughter, Rebekah Goodwin of Richmond and her son, Robert Muskus of Norwalk, Conn. The groom’s Best Man was his nephew, Todd Hirsch, of Annapolis.

The bride’s father, retired, was a Shell Oil executive. Her mother, a former senior executive with Avon Cosmetics, is deceased. The groom’s parents are deceased.

They are planning to live in the Annapolis area.
