Successful JR/SR Prom 2008
By Nanette Hogan/RCHS Prom Coordinator 2008/Class of 2009
The Rappahannock County Public School Junior Class of 2009 hosted the JR/SR Prom on Saturday, May 3, at The Link in Sperryville.
One hundred sixth seniors and juniors and their dates participated in the 8 p.m. to midnight lovely formal dance, "Forever Young."
Stars, moon and a 'fountain of youth' was the backdrop for Prom court. Seniors Jonathan Butler and Colleen Daly were voted in as king and queen. Juniors Megan Wheatley and Steve Dodson were voted by their peers as junior prince and princess.
The Junior class would like to thank the following contributors for making Prom 2008 the "best prom ever": The Link, Cliff Miller, Melanie Kopjanski, Mary Arthur (lovely cake), Kelly Settle, Early's Carpet, Pepsi, Puskar Construction, Amissville Nursery, Long Mountain Nursery, Leslie Addison (Special Occasions Catering) Mrs. Puryear, Mr.Hipple, Cole Johnson, Mr. Hogan's Welding classes (fountain of youth), Dos Allen (DJ), Webster Photography, Junior Prom Committee Members (met once a month for nine months), RCHS chaperones.
An extra big thank you to Heather Puskar, Fay Smoot and Debbie Massie — my parental team that was involved in planning from day one.
Thanks, girls, for the help and support that made this such a special event for our students at Rappahannock County.
