Come to the concert at The Theatre House!
Paul Reisler & a Thousand Questions featuring Howard Levy will perform in Rappahannock County
On Sunday, June 8, at 4:00 p.m., local favorite Paul Reisler, founder of Trapezoid and Kid Pan Alley, and his new band, Paul Reisler & A Thousand Questions will perform at the Theatre House on Castleton Farms in Rappahannock County.
This astonishing collaboration features original music by Paul Reisler, joined by harmonica and piano virtuoso Howard Levy (formerly of the Flecktones), Amy Speace and percussionist Jagoda. Their beautiful and emotionally direct music cuts across borders-combining folk roots, world music eclecticism, classical precision, and new age mysticism with the vitality of contemporary music.
According to Reisler, "It has been one of my dreams to perform at the Theatre House. It is the most beautiful, intimate and fantastic sounding hall I have ever seen in my 33 years of performing. It is such an inspiration to play in a 125 seat hall that has been graced by the likes of José Carreras, Issac Stern, Emanuel Ax, Sir James Galway, Pepé Romero and of course, Maestro Lorin Maazel and Dietlinde Turban-Maazel who built this amazing home for music in our community." This will be the bands first appearance in Rappahannock County.
Paul Reisler was the co-founder and leader of Trapezoid for over 25 years. He’s the founder and artistic director of the Kid Pan Alley children’s songwriting project—a program that inspires kids to be creators. He’s currently working on a Kid Pan Alley CD project in Charlottesville that features some of that city’s best-known recording artists. He has performed in over 3,500 concerts, written thousands of songs, and recorded close to three-dozen albums.
Howard Levy’s musical adventures include journeys into jazz, pop, rock, world music, Latin, classical, folk, blues, country, theater, and film. He has appeared on hundreds of CDs, won a Grammy for his work with the Flecktones and has received numerous other awards. Universally acknowledged as the world’s most advanced diatonic harmonica player, he is also an accomplished pianist and composer.
Amy Speace is a singer/songwriter and actress from New York City. Amy tours the world performing with her band. "Speace’s arresting voice combines the best parts of Lucinda Williams with Roseanne Cash and brings an unflagging sense of 21st century hipness to all her songs." Vintage Guitar Magazine.
Jagoda is a master drummer/percussionist from New York City who plays with many different artists ranging from Richie Havens to Swamp Cabbage.
The suggested contribution for Paul Reisler & A Thousand Questions is $35 for adults and $15 for students.
