Community invited to meeting on watershed clean-up
The Virginia Departments of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) and Environmental Quality (DEQ) seek participation from the public in the upcoming development of a "Total Maximum Daily Load," or TMDL Implementation Plan for the purpose of reducing previously observed high levels of fecal coliform and e. coli bacteria found to exist in certain segments of the Hazel, Hughes and Rush Rivers located in Rappahannock, Culpeper and Madison counties.
Members of the community are invited to a meeting to address watershed clean-up efforts for the Hazel,
Hughes and Rush Rivers on Sept. 16 from 7-9 p.m. at the
Rappahannock County High School library. Agricultural and residential stakeholder working group meetings will also take place during that time.
