Children's Bible Club on Wednesdays
Five years ago a Bible memorization program called Kids' Community Bible Club was begun by Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, Trinity Episcopal Church and Washington Baptist Church for the area children. Now Flint Hill United Methodist Church also is sponsoring this activity. Last year the program had an enrollment of 18 children with an average attendance of 12. Many children received special permission to take the school bus to our site. The program begins at 3:45 p. m. and ends at 5 p. m., each Wednesday. There is no cost. Children in grades one to six may attend. Activities include creative arts, games, music and refreshments. Children are rewarded upon learning certain scripture verses with bonus points which they then can use to purchase Christian related prizes. Included in their memorization are the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, the Beatitudes, Books of the Bible , the Twelve Disciples and other Bible related material. Shiloh Baptist Church, Woodville, invites everyone for an afternoon of fellowship and Christian love, good food, games, activities, cake walk and much more on Saturday, Sept. 13 from noon to 4 p.m.

Flint Hill Pentecostal Church, Aileen Road (off Fodderstack Road), will host a covered dish Fall picnic on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. All are welcome. Call 540-636-2497 for more information.

Registration continues through Sept. 19 for the Third Women In Worship Conference to be held at the Hospitality House and Conference Center in Fredericksburg on Sept. 26-27 sponsored by Wayland Blue Ridge Women's Auxiliary and Friends. The conference check-in on Friday begins at 10 a.m. and the EXPO with vendors and mini-informational sessions begins at noon. The guest speaker is Cynthia Brazenness, Victory Christian Ministries, Washington, D.C., and vicinity, also Rev. Tammie Farmstead Milliamp and Rev. Janice Steels, Victory in Christ Ministries. Musical guests include Missy "OCTAVIA" Yates and Psalmist Eric Farmstead. Pastor Roger Smith and the congregation of the Five Forks Regular Baptist extend a warm invitation to everyone to join them for their Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 21, with Sunday School at 10 a.m., followed by worship service at 11 a.m., and afternoon service at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Elder Nelson Pettit from New Market, Va.Macedonia Baptist Church, Flint Hill, will celebrate its eighth anniversary of its pastor, Rev. Dr. Donald Simpkins on Sunday, Sept. 21. The Rev. Marvin Hargrove, Sr., an Associate Minister of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Alexandria will preach the 11 a. m. worship service. The Rev. Nelson Sneed, pastor of the Little Forest Baptist Church in Stafford will preach the 3 p.m., sermon. Lunch will be provided after the morning service. All are welcome to attend.

United Methodist Church, Sperryville, will have an evening of bluegrass and gospel music on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy some of Rappahannock's best traditional acoustic musicians, including Frank Riley and Jeannette Wood. Everyone is invited to join the members of Novum Baptist Church for its annual Homecoming and Revival Services. Homecoming will be observed on Sunday, Sept. 28 with worship at 8:30 a.m., and again at 11 a.m. Sunday Schools are held in between services at 9:45 a.m. The Homecoming covered dish fellowship meal will be held at the church following the 11 a.m., worship service. Revival services will be held nightly, Sunday, Sept. 28 – Thursday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. The first series will be given by Evangelist Brian Francis Hume, Grace Church of Fredericksburg. The second series will be given by Evangelist Stephen P. Burke, The Lord Will Provide Ministry. Worship music will be facilitated each evening by Lee Catherine Clayton and the worship team "Immersed." A nursery will be provided. Light refreshments will be offered nightly following the services. The Flint Hill Baptist Church invites the public to attend its annual Homecoming event on Oct., 12 at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Robert O. Goff with special music and entertainment by the RMA cadets. A covered dish luncheon will be held at the Flint Hill Fire Department following the service.

Area youth are invited to showcase their talent in the First "The GOSPEL" Youth Talent Showcase on Friday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m., to be held at the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Center, 15044 Ryland Chapel Rd., Rixeyville. There will be five categories: Solo, Duo/Group, Dance/Step, Spoken Word, Instrumentalists. Winners will be awarded trophies as determined by local area judges. The registration fee is $10/per entry and applications must be received by Oct. 15. F. T. Baptist Church will have its dedication service for a new installed pipe organ on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. There will be an organ demonstration and several performers.
