Erma Lucille Pendergast, 80, died on April 18, at her resident in Washington, VA.

Mrs. Pendergast was born in Marion, Ohio on December 3, 1927.

She achieved multiple milestones in life where traditional women never ventured including but not limited to the participation in old car restorations, shooting matches, resolving mechanical issues, and the grooming of her perfect yard. She was a conservative Republican and activist in Rappahannock County.

Mrs. Pendergast was married 55 years to the late Thomas S. Pendergast, Jr.

She is survived by her brother, James F. Hoffman and his wife, Joan of Marion, Ohio, a devoted nephew, Jymm A. Hoffman, and his daughter, Abigail and wife, Laura of Ambridge, PA., along with other family members.

She was surrounded by her special friends, along with much support and encouragement from Dr. John McCue. She was very grateful to various friends for their assistance and compassion

A celebration of her life and legacy will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, beginning at Found and Sons Funeral Home, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA and continuing to her home on the Covington River in Washington, Virginia.
