I suggest that the facade remain and a new building attached behind. At the minimum the front, with its historical significance, should be saved. How about including a local architect on the design team? The scheme depicted in the Rapp News (Aug. 25) reminds me of a Harbor Freight Store or a Home Depot.

A rendering of the proposed new courthouse, designed by a consulting firm hired by the Board of Supervisors. The building would still face Gay Street and be situated on the current courthouse complex.
