I met Dr. Webb “pre-corona” and was incredibly impressed. The right key issue: access to affordable health care.
His background makes him the very best prepared to be an active and informed member of Congress. A man who has earned both a medical degree and law degree from UVA (He is currently providing clinical care in Charlottesville as well as being the director of Health Care and Equity at UVA — and teaching students).
Dr. Webb was chosen by President Obama to be a prestigious White House House fellow where he concentrated on education, workforce development and criminal justice reform as part of the My Brother's Keeper Initiative.
The work he has already done to address his goals of access to health care and social justice from beginning a clinic in Chicago to working in the Obama White House to teaching health policy means he has actual experience in addressing what needs to be done. Not just an interesting backstory but an interesting backstory with enormous achievement.
Finally, I believe that Dr. Webb would bring the most to the Democratic ticket in November. It is all about winning and turnout in all of our communities.
Do not get me wrong, John Lesinski would make a good member of Congress, however Dr. Cameron Webb has the makings of a great one. I hope you will vote for him in the Democratic primary on June 23.
